How do I export photos from the Photos App on Mac to a folder on my computer?

The 'Photos' App on a Mac doesn't actually have a file path for your images. However our editor needs to know the exact file path for your photos to be able to add them to your project.

We do not recommend adding photos to your project directly from the Photos App as your MacOS will then store those photos in a temporary folder.  If you re-start your computer or after a certain amount of time, that temp folder will be automatically deleted.

Therefore the easiest resolution is to export the photos for your project into a separate folder on your computer that's easy for you to find. You will then be able to add the photos to your project from that folder.

To export your photos from the Photos app:

1: Open the Photos app. Select all the photos you wish to export. If you want to select a lot of photos click on the first photo and hold 'Shift' on your keyboard, then click the last photo. This will select all your photos.

2: When your photos are selected, click on 'File > Export > 'Export (number of photos) Photos'

3: In the new window, make sure the file type is set to 'jpeg' and File Name is set to 'Use File Name' - Then Click 'Export'

4: Another window will come up - This is where you can select where to save the exported folder. You might want to make a new folder. Otherwise, select the location you wish to save to and click 'Export.'

5: After a minute your photos will start to export. When the export is complete you will see a notification saying 'Export of (number of photos) is complete.'

Once the photos are stored in your new folder, you can add them to your project in 2 ways.

a. Simply drag and drop your photos from the folder where they are stored directly onto pages of your project in our editor.

b. In our editor, click on the '+' sign under the 'Pictures' heading at the top left. Select Then select the file path where the pictures are now stored. This will add the pictures to the Pictures List on the left column of the editor. From there you can drag them onto the pages of your album.
